Antique Temple Bench, elmwood, driftwood, Shandong province, #2
This is the second of 2 Antique Elm Temple Benchs that were brought back from China several years ago. Made from driftwood found along the shore of the Korean Sea, this bench graced a temple swallowed by the 3 Gorges Dam. Though similar, they are not identical [in the 2nd pic, this chair is the closest]; the farthest bench is listed separately. This one has more balanced front legs and rears. Each temple bench measures approximately 40″ long, 30″ tall at the post, and 24″ wide at the seat. Quite heavy, I’d say about 300 lbs.
