Antique Victorian Change Tray – Elk’s Revenge
How the tables have turned! This antique bronze Victorian change tray depicts a humorous reversal of roles, in which an evil spiteful elk is seen standing over a fallen hunter who is still clinging to his rifle. The hunting theme is further enhanced by the outer ring that frames this woodland scene, which is made to look like part of a hunting horn. The date of this piece is estimated to be within the late 19th century, likely within the 1880-1890 range. The tray measures at approximately 6.25 inches from the two outermost points, and the ring of the horn is approximately 4.5 inches in diameter.
